Daylong Retreat: Meditation and Mindful Movement

BODY AWARENESS: MEDITATION AND MINDFUL MOVEMENT
Join us for this daylong event as we explore the nature of the body through mindfulness. The program will include sitting and walking meditation, instructions, and body movement.
What to Bring: Please bring a lunch, beverage and appropriate clothing for outside walking meditation.
Suggested Donation: $20 – $60; No one turned away for lack of funds.

Forrest Hill has been practicing Insight Mediation since 2004 and is the founder of Napa Valley Insight Meditation. He has served as a facilitator at NVIM since its inception in 2011. Forrest is currently enrolled in the Community Dharma Leaders Program, a Buddhist teacher training program at Spirit Rock Meditation Center. He has a PhD from MIT in Biological Oceanography and works as a socially responsible financial advisor. Forrest believes insight meditation can foster greater awareness, wisdom and kindness in our daily lives, and teach us how to respond more compassionately to the world around us.
Juan Sacristan has been practicing Yoga and meditation since 1975. He has a Doctorate in Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic-West and has practiced Chiropractic for over 25 years. Juan studied lyengar based Yoga with Victor Oppenheimer and has trained with a wide array of teachers including Dharma Mitra, Anna Forrest and Doug Keller. He specializes in alignment-based therapeutic Yoga practice, Asanas, Pranayam (Yogic breathing techniques) and meditation for a variety of mental and physical health issues. Juan continues to integrate his background in health care, his training in Yoga, as well as his personal practice, to help students focus their practice of Yoga as a therapeutic approach to healing and meditation for people of all ages, experience and abilities.
